Hi, I’m Tash — dog trainer, nature nerd, and your biggest cheerleader.

I'm a qualified IMDT trainer offering friendly, force-free dog training in and around Grimsby, Cleethorpes & Louth. I help dogs and their humans build confidence, real-life skills, and connection — with kindness, patience, and a little bit of science behind everything I do.

Whether you’re starting out with a new puppy or navigating a trickier behaviour challenge, I’m here to support you in a way that’s effective, positive, and tailored to your unique dog.

My Approach

Training & Experience

I believe training should be fun and focussed on setting both dogs and people up for success. That means:

🐾 Kind, reward-based methods
🐾 Confidence-building for both ends of the lead

🐾 Science-backed methods
🐾 Practical skills that make life easier
🐾 Respect and empathy — no judgement, just support

Dogs are individuals — and so are you. I’ll work with you both to create calm relationships that work in the real world.

I’m a certified member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and am committed to ongoing learning — because the more I know, the better I can support you.

My approach is rooted in modern behavioural science, but delivered with heart and humour.

I've supported first-time puppy parents and dogs with complex behavioural needs. I have been lucky enough to be mentored for the last two years by local behaviourist Michelle Ornsby.

A scientific approach with a big heart

Before becoming a dog trainer, I followed a lifelong love of science and nature. I studied Natural Sciences at undergraduate level, focusing on biology — especially ecology, behaviour, and evolution — before going on to complete a Master’s degree at Imperial College London.

While my career path shifted from bumblebee genomes to wagging tails, I’ve always been driven by the same thing: understanding behaviour, supporting learning, and making life better for the creatures we share the world with.

Today, I bring that same curiosity and care to every training session — combining up-to-date science with a warm, empathetic approach that meets dogs (and humans!) where they are.

A little more about me...

When I’m not training, you’ll most likely find me outside — hiking, gardening, generally investigating (bothering!) the animals around me. I’m endlessly fascinated by the natural world and continue to educate myself.

I love helping people feel confident, capable, and connected to their dogs — and I truly believe that training works best when we’re all having fun.

A special  thanks...

U Lead The Way was originally founded by Michelle Ornsby, an experienced trainer and behaviourist with a big heart and a community-minded approach. After being taken under her wing and working together for more than two years, I am proud to be continuing her work and carrying her ethos forward. If it weren't for the support she’s shown, U Lead The Way wouldn't be here today.

Michelle no longer runs training classes but is an expert behaviourist who offers specialist 121 support. She's on hand to help - please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
